Who is Biju?
Mr. Biju Thoompil, a distinguished native of Kurumulloor, Kottayam, has consistently been celebrated for his unparalleled organizational prowess during his formative academic years at Kaipuzha St. George High School and subsequently at Uzhavoor St. Stephen's College. Demonstrating a profound dedication to community service, he held the esteemed position of trustee at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church from 2005 to 2006, actively engaging in both the spiritual life and organizational management of the church. Beyond his ecclesiastical contributions, Mr. Thoompil has also made his mark as a freelance journalist, contributing his insights and expertise to prestigious broadcasting channels such as Asianet, Jaihind, Kairali, and KTV, enhancing the media landscape with his thorough and insightful reporting.
In his illustrious career, Mr. Thoompil has assumed pivotal roles such as President, Vice President, and Secretary within the Kerala Association of New England. His leadership was instrumental in revitalizing the association’s agenda, successfully spearheading numerous unique and impactful programs. This initiative not only broadened the cultural horizons of the community but also cemented his reputation as a visionary leader. His commitment extends further as he served as the Coordinator for the Burlington Malayalee Association, where he continued to foster community spirit and integration.
Currently serving in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Thoompil brings the same level of zeal and dedication to national security that he has shown in his community engagements. He resides in Burlington, Boston, with his wife, Liji Thoompil, and their son, Benito Thoompil, where he continues to be an influential figure in both his professional and personal life, exemplifying the virtues of service, leadership, and community commitment
